Sustainalicious: Eat Well, Do Good, and Make Climate Action Delicious

Toronto is a city that thrives on culture, creativity, and cuisine, and this year, those three things come together in a powerful way through Sustainalicious, part of Toronto Climate Week.
Running from May 15 to June 14, Sustainalicious is a city-wide food experience that turns everyday meals into meaningful climate action. Whether you’re dining out at one of Toronto’s top restaurants or cooking at home with chef-inspired recipes, every bite contributes to a healthier planet.
What is Sustainalicious?
Sustainalicious is a collaborative initiative designed to make climate-friendly eating simple, accessible, and most importantly, delicious.
In partnership with Toronto Climate Week, Zestyplan, Eat for Impact, and the Toronto Vegetarian Food Bank, this challenge invites Torontonians to explore how food choices can reduce environmental impact without sacrificing flavour or experience.
Participants can:
- Dine at participating restaurants featuring climate-smart menu items
- Cook chef-curated recipes at home
- Track their environmental impact in real time
- Join a growing community making small changes with big results
Why Food Matters in Climate Action
Food is one of the most powerful tools we have to influence climate change.
Sustainalicious highlights how small shifts, like choosing plant-forward meals more often, can collectively reduce emissions, conserve water, and support more sustainable food systems.
It’s not about restriction or perfection. It’s about awareness, intention, and progress, one meal at a time.
Explore Toronto Through a New Lens
With more than 30+ participating restaurants across the city, Sustainalicious is also a celebration of Toronto’s diverse culinary scene.
From neighbourhood gems to well-known favourites, restaurants are serving up special dishes designed to be both satisfying and environmentally conscious.
This means you can:
- Try new plant-forward dishes across the city
- Support local restaurants embracing sustainability
- Experience how climate-friendly food can still be bold, comforting, and exciting
Bring the Experience Home
Not dining out? You can still take part.
Sustainalicious also includes chef-designed recipes you can cook at home. These meals are built around accessible ingredients and designed to help you build new habits that fit into everyday life.
Whether you’re cooking for yourself, your family, or your community, each recipe is an opportunity to learn, experiment, and make a difference from your own kitchen.
Track Your Impact
One of the most unique parts of Sustainalicious is its ability to show real impact.
As you participate, you can track:
- Estimated carbon savings
- Environmental impact of meals
- Collective progress across participants
It transforms everyday eating into something visible, measurable, and motivating.
Join the Movement
Sustainalicious is more than an event, it’s a shift in how we think about food and its role in the world around us.
It’s proof that climate action doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. It can be simple. It can be social. And yes, it can be delicious.
So whether you’re trying one new meal or exploring the city’s restaurant scene, you’re part of something bigger.
Because every meal is a chance to make an impact.
